Coonoor’s premier social club since 1885, with a long tradition of friendship, sport, dining, and community.
Coonoor Club has been part of life in the Nilgiris since 1885. Today, with 900+ members and 80+ affiliated clubs across India, it remains the premier social club in the region. The Club is registered under the Tamil Nadu Societies Registration Act (S. No. 22 of 1991), and members enjoy access to the Club’s facilities, along with reciprocal access to affiliated clubs across India.
The Club is open to Ladies and Gentlemen of social standing above the age of 21. Business hours are 9 AM to 6 PM daily. Members enjoy world-class facilities, dining, sports and reciprocal access to affiliated clubs nationwide.

As laid down in the Coonoor Club Bye-Laws (registered under the Tamil Nadu Societies Registration Act, 1975).
To provide a place in and around Coonoor where Members and their guests can meet, socialise, and enjoy a range of social activities and pastimes.
To promote social interaction among Members and encourage participation in sports and games, including tennis, badminton, billiards, and indoor sports, as well as competitions and sporting events.
Members enjoy reciprocal access to 80+ affiliated clubs across India. Members of affiliated clubs may use the Coonoor Club’s facilities on presentation of their membership card and a letter of introduction.
To encourage reading, cultural activities, and an appreciation of the heritage of the Nilgiris, while preserving the traditions and character of the Club for future generations.

The Club is governed by elected Permanent Members who serve voluntarily. The Committee is elected at the Annual General Meeting and holds office until the next AGM.
